Who it’s for
Almost every business that meets customers, visits job sites or rents space. Many landlords and clients require it before you can start work, and many contracts ask to be named as an additional insured.
Bundle two or more policies with Diamond and save up to 20%. A licensed agent reviews every request. Nothing on this page is a quote or proof of coverage.
General liability questions
Is general liability required by law in California?
Not by state law for most businesses. But landlords, general contractors, cities and clients often require it in writing before you can sign a lease or start a job.
What is an additional insured?
It’s a person or company added to your policy, usually a client or landlord, so your coverage protects them too for claims tied to your work. Contracts often require it.
Does general liability cover my tools?
No. Tools and equipment need their own coverage, often called inland marine. Oscar can bundle both.
